Wheeeeeee! Here I am sliding down the ice slide at the ICE exhibit at the Gaylord Palms. Collin and I froze our patooties sliding down the slide! Cool that everything is carved from blocks of ice, but overpriced. When it's 80 degrees outside, somebody's got to pay to maintain the 9 degree temperatures inside --last we contributed to the utility bill. The ice sculptures were quite amazing. At an ice festival outside with sunshine sparkling off of them I imagine they would be spectacular. Walking through the exhibit at a hotel convention center? Picture worn carpet, hanging curtains, directional queue lines. Different. Nonetheless we enjoyed ourselves -- ice is such a treat in Florida. Collin doesn't quite have the ankle strength for ice skating, but he gave it a good go. Notice how dry he is in the first picture? That was so not the case by the time we left the rink! He loved it anyway though. For me, the ice was too rutted--full of pock marks and pot holes--I wonder if the Gaylord Palms even has a Zamboni?
